Skincare doesn't have to be complicated. In fact, the best routines are the ones you can stick to consistently. ## The 3-Step Core Routine Every good skincare routine has three non-negotiable steps: **1. Cleanser** — A gentle, sulfate-free cleanser twice a day. For oily skin, use salicylic acid-based cleansers. For dry skin, choose cream-based ones. **2. Moisturizer** — Even oily skin needs moisturizer. Choose a non-comedogenic, gel-based formula in summer and a richer cream in winter. **3. Sunscreen** — This is the single most important step. Use SPF 50 PA+++ every morning, even indoors near windows. Reapply every 3-4 hours if outdoors. ## Actives — Add Only What You Need Don't add everything at once. Introduce one active at a time: - **Vitamin C** — Morning, for glow and pigmentation - **Niacinamide** — Morning or night, for oil control and pores - **Retinoid** — Night only, for acne and anti-aging - **AHA/BHA** — 2-3 times a week, for exfoliation ## Common Mistakes to Avoid - Over-cleansing (strips your skin barrier) - Skipping sunscreen on cloudy days - Mixing too many actives at once - Not giving products 8-12 weeks to work - Ignoring your dermatologist's advice ## When to See a Dermatologist If you have persistent acne, sudden hair fall, or pigmentation that isn't improving with OTC products, consult a dermatologist. Prescription treatments work far better than random internet advice.
